Alaska Woman Brooke Collins Punches Bear in the Face to save her Dog.

Fudge the Dog, who can thank God I am not his owner....

A black bear in Alaska figured it had scored a value meal when it grabbed 22 year old Juneau resident Brooke Collins' dachshund, Fudge and attempted to make a meal of him. Collins interrupted the bear just as he was seasoning the hound and her instincts took over. She rushed up to the Bear and punched it in the face with enough force to cause it to release Fudge.

Collins reported that she discovered the bear crouched down, clutching Fudge in it's paws and biting the back of the dog's neck, a custom performed by most bears after they wash their hands and say grace. "It had her kind of like when they eat salmon," Collins said Wednesday. "I was freaking out. I was screaming at it. My dog was screaming. I ran up to it ... I just punched it right in the snout and it let go."

Collins' boyfriend arrived [conveniently late] and managed to scare the bear off making this odds on the biggest pussy of a bear I have read about in years. Anyhow, this is a testament to how close people become to their pets these days. I am willing to bet that if her boyfriend was being eaten by a bear, the brave Brooke Collins would have simply been less aggressive on bear eating boyfriend.....
