America Not the Fattest Nation??
I am 6"0 tall and roughly 195-200Lbs. I'd say that meant I was a pretty large guy. Not so, there are much bigger folks out there, especially out in "Sweet Home Alabama" where the skies are so blue and the people are noticeably super-sized.
I was looking for a pair of Cargo shorts. I preferred to find a darker brown so as to avoid people confusing me with on of those frat, lacrosse playing, Frisbee tossing, douchbags. You know, the one that wear the nationally accredited "jerk" uniform.
1: I-phone or Mac-book pro, more recently an I-Tampon or what ever you call the tablet thing.
2. An Ill-fitting polo shirt that looks like dog ate it and regurgitated it. (although the exclusion of any t-shirt at all is not uncommon.)
3. Tattered cargo pants that look like they've seen time in Afghanistan.
4. A pair of shades.
5. Frisbee to throw while tanning.
Anyway, I didn't want to look like that, although I must admit I like ill-fitting polo shirts and the likes so it's a catch 22 I guess. In any case, I was perusing the cargo pants isle and turned the corner only to hear the black gentleman that was manning the area clear his throat hoarsely before mentioning that I wouldn't find my size there. I was surprised because the numbers were the same 38's 40's 36's but when you picked up the clothing all you saw were monstrous, titanic garments, big enough to be military grade parachutes. I was in the big and tall clothes section, the part of the store designated for big and tall clothing. Then read up some stats only to find that Alabama, along with Tennessee and Mississippi are as big as they get and these types of sections in conventional stores are getting bigger, as big as the giants they cloth.
Let' look at the statistics.......
America’s Obesity Epidemic

20 – 24% Fat Hawaii, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Illinois, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Florida and Virginia.

The World's Obesity Epidemic
Below are the top eight ‘obese’ countries and the top eight ‘overweight’ countries:% Overweight | %Obese |
62% Israel | 29% Kuwait |
63% Bosnia | 29% Bahrain |
64% Kuwait | 34% United States |
66% United States | 34% United Arab Emirates |
67% United Kingdom | 36% Saudi Arabia |
67% Germany | 41% French Polynesia |
73% Saudi Arabia | 56% Tonga |
75% French Polynesia | 79% Nauru |
Plenty of suprizes on that list but needless to say next time someone makes fun of Americans being the fattest nation in the world, tell them they should probably be making fun of Kuwait or Bahrain instead.
