How to politely and effectively Deal with a Racist!

I came across this excellent video at Jay Smoothe's ill doctrine. It's about how to approach some who makes racist remarks and make them accountable for what they say rather than simply calling them "a racist." This way you address the ignorance and avoid getting trapped in circular, pointless rhetoric that detracts from what was said or done. The last thing you wanna do is hear a slew of canned responses every racist has prepared. Responses like:

I am not being racist....

- ...I am being honest.
Yes but the to things are not mutually exclusive. You can be very honest and still very racist...

- ...My best friend in high school was black...
This doesn't necessarily mean you aren't racist. Maybe you were buddies with the token black dude that wore Cosby Sweaters and acted exactly like you preferred every black person acted...i.e exactly like you.

 - ...I used to date a black girl in college...
And then what happened to her? Couldn't deal with her ghetto mom or gangster friends? Did decide against the whole thing and hand her over to your pals for a lynching?

- ....We had an African guy over for dinner when I was young...
Don't invite me over for dinner only to use me as a defense someday. I'm a person too...:-(

- ....I am not making this up, it's just how it is, don't be mad at me
Even if that really is "how it is," which is probably isn't, since you know about it you have the power to change it rather than proliferate the ideology.

- ....I was raised this way...
Well you were raised racist? Besides you are not shackled to beliefs and ideologies of the previous generation. That's just lazy!

ETC ETC..................
