New iPad 2 fails MISERABLY in SquareTrade's iPad Drop Test (video)!

The iPad 2 fails the Drop test miserably and the message is clear and apparent ~ you can't drop the damn thing!

It stands to plain and simple reasoning that you simply cannot drop an iPad and expect to continue to use it at 100%, not even at 30%. It looks like it will break and The Drop Test does nothing but reinforce the obvious. However, I can't deny it is fun to watch.

Laptop insurance company SquareTrade put the new iPad and the iPad 2 to The Drop Test on a hard marble surface.

1) First they dropped an iPad face-up from waist height and it survived. Then they dropped it face-down from waist height and the screen showed slight but significant damage. A drop face-down from shoulder height annihilated the iPad screen ~ but seriously, shoulder height? Who does that?

2) The same battery of tests were run on The New iPad 2. The New iPad 2 also survived the first drop face-up from waist height but was totally obliterated beyond usage when dropped face-down from any height.

Conclusion:
Obviously both devices were destroyed, but you wouldn't drop a baby from those heights so why drop your iPad 2. They are just as fragile!
