Cheating Navy Cmdr. Michael Ward Fakes Death to End Affair!
A Navy commander's career is set to sink after allegedly faking his death to end an extramarital affair.
Navy Cmdr. Michael Ward II of the USS Pittsburgh, 43, met the 23-year-old woman on a dating website last October. Ward, who is married with children, told the woman he was separated and worked in special ops.
When Ward realized he was in too deep, he decided to bail out and solicited the services of a co-worker, "Bob," who contacted the woman by email with greatly exaggerated news of Ward's demise.
The email read:
"I am extremely sorry to tell you that he is gone. We tried everything we could to save him. I cannot say more. I am sorry it has to be this way...He loved you very much"
The woman replied,
“I can’t help but wonder how true this is… That maybe he just can’t talk to me until he is done and he had to make (it) appear permanent…. This is just crazy! This can’t have happened. I love him… We were supposed to be together. He promised me. How could this happen… Is it possible he was captured?”
Bob replied,
“This is by far the most difficult part of what we do. I wish I had a better answer. Take care of yourself – I know he would have wanted that.”

"I don't want revenge here," the woman told The Day. "I want everyone to know the truth about Michael. He does not need to be commanding a submarine. He's a deceitful man."
Ward has since been reassigned to administrative duties because of the incident.
After learning that Ward was still alive, the woman said she was hospitalized and discovered she was pregnant by Ward before losing the baby.
The woman didn't identify herself for fear of jeopardizing her career. Ward declined comment to The Day but faces a battle no amount of military training can prepare him for...... For Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
