The Facebook announcement that we've all been waiting for is here: Facebook has integrated Skype video chat into their system. Now, when you message a friend on Facebook, you have the option to initiate a video chat with them (Try it out for yourself here). You will also be able pull information from your news feed, comment and like content right from the chat interface. The most impressive feature would be the ability to add multiple people to your chat depending on your browser size and specs. The roll out will be available for all 750 million Facebook users in 70 different languages. (Source.)
Facebook chat has the reputation of being crappy. It's seldom that you can have a conversation without some kind of cataclysmic glitch every 5 minutes. So hopefully with this advancement they will have made it more stable. I haven't really used it long enough to comment on that. In any event, now all the creepy people you befriended and old high school friends who offer you nothing but awkward conversations will have the ability to v-chat with you! Yippy!!??
