After a couple of successful seasons at Man United, his ego began to resemble the grand canyon prompting a move to Spanish La Liga Giants Real Madrid, where he became a deity; CR7 God of Diving and Play-acting. This in turn spawned millions of minions on pick-up fields globally, emulating his over-cooked, greasy hair, replicating his moves and nuking recreational soccer as we know it.
This is the current incarnation of CR7....
CR7 can be seen throwing a hissy fit like an 8 year old girl because his goal is disallowed when Luis Nani heads the ball into the net after a fine move by the Portuguese winger. A move which rendered Spanish defender and Barcelona star Gerard Pique a spectator as he lay on the turf left for dead. Turns out the ball had crossed the line before it was headed and Nani wasn't even offside, thanks to the remnants of the skinned defender Pique who was still lying on the ground. This made CR7 an even bigger douchebag for reacting the way he did.
Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to a recent barrage of boos in both La Liga and Europe major by sighting his good looks and wealth as the reason. Asked about the behavior of the Dinamo Zegreb fans, who booed the Portuguese actress in their last Champions league fixture, CR7 responded by saying,
"I think that because I am rich, handsome and a great player people are envious of me. I don't have any other explanation." ~ Well we do.
The Portuguese star made no mention of his reputation for play-acting and diving, most notably 5 years ago in his insidious treatment of his then teammate Wayne Rooney with the wink heard around the world in the QF of the 2006 World Cup. A gesture which disqualified him from winning best young player at that tournament. In the 2008 - 2009 season, a group of 2500 fans voted CR7 the most hated player in England, even more hated than pantomime villain El Hadji Diouf. Just to put that into context, the latter beats his wife!
This is why people hate CR7......
The truth is Mr CR7, people boo you because you are a cheat. A lot of players dive, sometimes you need to dive: to ride a heavy challenge, if you are very desperate or if you are Latino. In your case it is an every day, every game occurrence and you seem to beg for sympathy for it. It is one of your "skilled moves." For this reason anybody who values the sanctity of the sport will disapprove of your actions.
